Keeping score with pen and paper during a pickup basketball game or gym-class relay gets messy fast—someone always loses track after a timeout, and rewriting numbers on a whiteboard wastes play time. This board keeps two team names, two scores, and one countdown clock in a single view so you can tap +1 or −1 without doing mental math on the sideline.

To get started, rename Home and Guest, set Minutes, click Reset on the timer, then use Start and Pause during the game. Open Fullscreen when you want the numbers readable from across a court or classroom.

Online Scoreboard Workflows and Practical Applications

Think of the clock like a kitchen timer tied to a score sheet: you pick a length, run it down, and adjust points as plays happen. The timer does not add bonus time on its own—you reset it when a new half or quarter begins.

Timer countdown

Remaining Seconds = (Minutes × 60) − Elapsed Seconds

Example: with 10 minutes loaded, the display starts at 10:00 (600 seconds). After 2 minutes of running time, 600 − 120 = 480 seconds remain, shown as 08:00.

Score updates

Each +1 adds one point to that side. −1 removes one point but never drops below zero—handy when you mis-tap during a fast break. Your names, scores, and clock value stay in browser storage until you click Reset all.

Standard Units and Reference Tables

• Timer input: Whole minutes from 1 to 120. Apply a new length with Reset on the clock (while paused).
• Clock display: MM:SS format (e.g., 09:30 = nine minutes thirty seconds left).
• Score buttons: +1 increments by one point; −1 decrements by one point (minimum score 0).
• Team names: Up to 20 characters each—enough for “Blue Team” or a class period label.
